Royal Institute of Navigation
The Royal Institute of Navigation was formed in 1947, granted Royal recognition in 1972 and incorporated by Royal Charter in 2006. Our charitable aims have always been:
• To unite in one body those interested in navigation
• To advance the art, science and practice of navigation
• To promote knowledge in navigation and its associated sciences, including positioning, timing, tracking and conduct of a journey, whether on, in, over or under land, sea, air or space
We meet these objectives through the running of targeted events and international conferences which focus on the hot issues and leading activity in the navigation industry; the publication of the world-renowned Journal of Navigation and the popular bimonthly magazine Navigation News
